 Aaron Swartz

Aaron Hillel Swartz (November 8, 1986 – January 11, 2013) was an American computer programmer, writer, political organizer and Internet Hacktivist.

Swartz was involved in the development of the web feed format RSS, the organization Creative Commons, the website framework web.py and the social news site, Reddit, in which he became a partner after its merger with his company, Infogami. ~Source Wikipedia

 The Story

Aaron was of the character that ruffled feathers and apparently some birds got angry. He was facing a long prison term and massive monetary penalties, all imposed by a power-hungry and corrupt government.

Aaron was a brilliant young man and who knows what marvelous contributions we have lost due to this fiasco. Brilliant? Surely. Emotionally ill-equipped to handle the all-powerful psychopaths? Certainly.

It is a sad state of affairs and a tale that should not have to be told again. Ever.

  1. I watched that movie a short time ago. I had heard the name, but knew nothing of its significance. It is sad this country can do this kind of thing. It says a lot about the direction we are taking. It has cost us a really brilliant man that could have made it a better country. Too bad.
